“What a beautiful difference one life can make”
March 7th, 2017 was a day that changed the lives of all who were lucky enough to be touched by the life of Diana L. Morrissey Eden. At 57 years old, Diana unexpectedly passed away. After receiving the results from her autopsy, it was found that she had unknowingly been battling Leukemia.
Diana was a loving mother, wife, sister, and friend who always put her family first. She was passionate about making everyone feel included and made sure that everyone was given the same experiences. She always sought out opportunities to help those in need and ways to give back. Diana encouraged those around her to not dwell on the small stuff, rather celebrate the wins in life. Since Diana was such a loving and giving person, her family decided to honor her through the “Dance for Diana Memorial Fund.” The event name was inspired by Diana’s love for the dance floor and having a good time wherever she was.
Dance for Diana Memorial Fund was established to honor Diana’s legacy by raising awareness and funding for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help others in need. The mission of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world, provides free information and support services, and is the voice for all blood cancer patients seeking access to quality, affordable, and coordinated care.
This year we will be hosting our third annual fundraiser in hopes of continuing to grow awareness and keep Diana’s spirit alive in the fight to find a cure for Leukemia. Dance for Diana is a 3 hour night of fun that includes dinner, drinks, 50/50 raffle, an assortment of raffle baskets, auction items, and a live DJ celebrating the life of Diana while raising money to contribute to the resources needed to cure this disease. If you are interested in creating a raffle basket or helping out in any way to prepare for this event, please reach out to info@dancefordiana.org.
The event will be held on March 5th at 6:00 pm at the Klein Creek Golf Course in the tent. We give our utmost gratitude to everyone who has supported us throughout this journey, and we look forward to your continued support as we strive to change the lives of others, one fundraiser at a time.
